Dry needling is a technique used to treat muscle pain and myofascial dysfunction. It is a very effective modality, used to help relax overactive muscles that may contain trigger points (hyperirritable spot or tight nodule through muscles). Trigger point therapy technique is based on western anatomical and neurophysiological principles.

A “Dry” needle, one without medication or injection, is performed by inserting it through the skin into areas of the muscle that contain myofascial trigger points. In other words, it is very helpful with relieve tight muscles and “sore spots” throughout the body. Often dry needling and acupuncture can get confused with one another as they both use very similar types of needles. However, don’t confuse them as they are both aimed at treating different aspects.

Dry needling is often effective at treating acute and chronic orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
